[…] Ambassador's briefing [by the Soviet Foreign Ministry] has been weak so far. Sometimes this leads to the thought that the country to which I have been assigned is probably not a very important one, though the disagreements with China, as I see it, make this country important for study, because the knot [sic] s now here.
