Subject: Visit of Kim Yun-gil, the first secretary of the DPRK

On August 28, I received Comrade Kim Yun-gil, the first secretary of the DPRK's embassy. His visit took place in order for him to express his agreement with us. They are ready to host the New York ambassador of Sierra Leone from August 30 to September 10 in the DPRK. I acknowledged his report and promised to forward it to our mission in New York. (This has already taken place today.)

Comrade Kim informed me that the first negotiations between the two Red Cross organizations will take place on August 29 in Pyongyang. The first section of the talks will last for four days. The second section will take place on September 13 in Seoul. The South Korean delegation will be led by the vice president of the organization. The delegation consists of 7 members and 7 main advisors; 20 main escorts, and a 20-member journalist group also accompanies it.

I thanked Comrade Kim for the information and asked him to keep continuously informing us about the substantive issues and developments of the negotiations. Comrade Kim promised this.
