Your Excellency,

Your outstanding leadership and dedication have made planning and implementation of projects for the Seoul Olympics possible. There are still a number of subjects awaiting your able hand for solution.

I wrote, after President Choong Kun CHO of the Korean Air has visited Moscow to meet the authorities of the USSR last week, to my colleague in USSR, and the copy of the letter is attached hereto. As the letter is self-explanatory, there will be a number of the Olympic participants who will fly by Korean Air from Europe to Korea. Due to lack of privilege to overfly the airspace of USSR, namely Siberian route, those flying by Korean Air will be penalized by longer flight, an additional five to six hours compared to those flying other airlines via Siberian route.

Soliciting your personal interest and assistance in this matter, I would like to request you to write to President of USSR Olympic Committee in support of my letter as attached.

Your favorable consideration and prompt action will be much appreciated.
