Dear President,

The IOC has been asked by the Koreans to refer to you regarding the possibility of letting Korean Air, which will transport a large number of Olympic participants, to overfly the airspace of USSR, namely Siberian route. I thank you in advance if you can support the request addressed to you by Dr. Un Yong Kim, IOC member.

May I add that the People’s Republic of China already gave its approval on this subject.
I stay with pleasure at your disposal and look forward to seeing you in Seoul.

Sincerely yours,

Juan Antonio Samaranch
President
