I visited Choe Yong-geon [Choe Yong Gon]. In connection with instructions to the trade representative to examine the issue with the Korean friends of payment of the cost of printing new banknotes for the DPRK in the USSR I asked Choe Yong-geon with whom the trade representative was to hold talks on this issue inasmuch as Minister of Finance Ri Ju-yeon is on vacation.

Choe Yong-geon replied that if there is time it is better to wait for Ri Ju-yeon, who is returning from vacation in the first days of August, and hold the corresponding talks with him.

I agreed with this suggestion, which I passed to the trade representative Cde. Gladkov the same day.

In the conversation which took place I informed Choe Yong-geon about the Soviet government's decision to deliver a considerable quantity of materials and raw material as trade turnover per a supplementary request of the DPRK government, and also about the additional purchase of Korean goods above the 1957 trade turnover protocol.

Choe Yong-geon warmly thanked the Soviet government for the decision and also said that they are very satisfied with the Soviet government's decision to harvest timber in the Soviet Union using Korean workers.
