Pang Hak-se confidentially informed [me] that he had just returned from Sinuiju where he had gone with others to see off Kim Il Sung to Peking, who was accompanied by Kim Chang-man, Ri He-sun [sic], and Presidium candidate member Ha Ang-cheon.

In a conversation with me Nam Il said that Kim Il Sung and those accompanying him went to Peking on an unofficial visit to meet with Mao Zedong concerning the same issues about which Kim Il…[Translator's note: the rest of the text is not available].

The ambassadors listened closely and with great interest, and expressed gratitude for the information.

In a conversation with Chinese Ambassador Qiao Xiaoguang, I asked, what's new?

The ambassador talked in great detail about the rallies and demonstrations taking place in Peking and other cities as a sign of support to the position of the Soviet government in connection with the US government's wrecking of the summit and is completely silent that Kim Il Sung is in Peking at the present time.
