JOURNAL

of Soviet Ambassador in the DPRK A. M. Puzanov for the period

7 March 1960

I visited Kim Il Sung and familiarized him with the record of the conversation between Cde. N. S. Khrushchev and J. Nehru for an hour. Notified by the DPRK MFA that Kim Il Sung had time only until 1900 since he had to go to a ceremonial meeting, I asked Kim Il Sung when the familiarization could be continued inasmuch as the allotted time had expired.

Kim Il Sung asked, will the text of the record be left?

I replied to Kim Il Sung that I cannot do this.

Then Kim Il Sung said that evidently he can continue the familiarization on Wednesday, 9 March. The time will be reported later.

Minister Pak Seong-cheol [Pak Song Chol], Chief of the KWP CC International Department Pak Yong-guk, and Deputy Chief of the First Department of the MFA Choe Won-sik (as interpreter) were present at the meeting. Embassy interpreter D. A. Priyemsky immediately read the record of the conversation translated into Korean.
