TO THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF THE PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF KOREA

The report of the signing of the armistice prompted deep satisfaction among all the Soviet people, who view the successful end of the armistice negotiations as a great victory of theheroic Korean people and the valiant Chinese people's volunteers.
The Korean armistice agreement is at the same time a great victory of the entire camp ofpeace and democracy.
With the end of the war the Korean people are faced with the tasks of the restoration ofnational unity of the Korean state and at the same time the task of restoring the economy, which was wrecked by a war unleashed on the Korean people.
The Soviet government wishes the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea success in solving these great and pressing tasks and expresses readiness to give all possible aid to the Korean people who are worn out with suffering in establishing a peaceful life and healing the serious wounds caused by the bloody war for the freedom
and independence of their motherland.
