11.00h            The Plane of the Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China stops in front of the VIP terminal of the Airport Orly.


M. DENG XIAOPING, followed by M. QIAO GUANHUA and the main members of his delegation is welcomed at the airport by the Prime Minister, accompanied by M.SAUVAGNARGUES, Minister of Foreign Affairs, by M. ZENG TAO, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to France, M. Claude ARNAUD, Ambassador of France to China, by M.Jean VAUDEVILLE, Prefect of Val de Marne, and by M. Jean-Paul ANGLE, Chief of Protocol.

The Prime Minister leads M. DENG XIAOPING to the flag. The personal assistant of the Vice Premier accompanies them....

The national anthems are played.

M. DENG XIAOPING and M. CHIRAC, accompanied by General Jean FAVREAU, Military Governor of Paris, inspect the honor guard...

Dinner offered by the President of the Republic at the Elysée Palace in honor of the Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China

 

 

p. 6 Program of Wednesday, 14 May 1975

 

 

Visit TO an agricultural holding

 

9.25h             M. Jean-Francosi DENIAU, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture arrives at the Hôtel Marigny

9.30h             M.DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M. DENIAU, leaves the Hôtel Marigny for the heliport at Issy les Moulinaux. After arrival, all passengers board the helicopters to leave for the farm of M. PIGEON in Aubigny.

 

Transfer by helicopter flying over numerous sites in the region of Paris.

 

10.15h             Landing near the farm buildings. M. DENG XIAOPING is welcomed by M.PIGEON, owner of the farm.

 

Visit to the farm holding.

 

11.50h             M. DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M. DENIAU, leaves the farm to return to Paris by helicopter to the heliport of Issy les Molineaux and then by car to the Hôtel Marigny where M.DENIAU takes his leave.

 

 

 

Meeting at the Elysée Palace

Departure from Paris to Lyon

 

9.55h             M. Michel PONIATOWSKI, Minister of State and the Ministry for the Interior arrives at the Hôtel Marigny

 

10.00h             M. DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M.PONIATOWSKI, leaves the Hôtel Marigny to go to Orly Airport (VIP terminal)

 

10.20h             Upon arrival, the passengers board the Caravelle

 

10.30h             Take off to Lyon

 

11.30h             Arrival at the Airport Lyon-Satolas

M.DENG XIAOPING is welcomed by M. DOUEIL, Prefect of the Region Rhône-Alpes, and greeted by local personalities.

 

 

RECEPTION AT THE TOWN HALL OF LYON

 

M.DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M.PONIATOWSKI, leaves the airport to go to the town hall where he is welcomed by M.PRADEL, Mayor of Lyon

 

12.00h             Reception at the town hall. Speech by M.PRADEL

 

 

VISIT TO THE FACTORIES OF BERLIET

 

15.45h             M.DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M.PONIATOWSKI, leaves the Prefecture for the factories of Berliet

 

16.00h             Arrival at the factories of Berliet, where M. DENG XIAOPING is welcomed by M.VERNIER-PALLIEZ, CEO of Automobiles Berliet.

 

Visit to the facilities.

17.30h             M.DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M. PONIATOWSKI, leaves the factories of Berliet for the airport of Lyon-Satolas.

 

18.00h             Take off of the Caravelle for Nîmes.

 

18.35h             Arrival at the airport of Nîmes-Garons, where M.DENG XIAOPING is welcomed by M.DELAUNAY, Prefect of Gard, and greeted by local personalities.

 

M.DENG XIAOPING and M.PONIATOWSKI, as well as the French and Chinese personalities accompanying them, board the helicopters for Baux-de-Provence.

 

19.00h             Arrival of the helicopters. Check-in at the Hostellerie de Baumanière.

 

 

DINNER AT THE HOSTELLERIE DE BAUMANIERE

 

20.00h             Intimate dinner, in the presence of M. PONIATOWSKI as well as M.SOMVEILLE, Prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône, and of a limited number of other French personallities.

Program of Friday, 16 May 1975

 

VISIT TO THE VILLAGE DES BAUX

 

9.00h             M. DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M.PONIATOWSKI, leaves the Hostellerie de Baumanière to go take the car to the village of Baux.

 

9.50h             The delegation leaves the village of Baux to take the car to the landing ground of the helicopters.

 

10.05h             take off of the helicopters to Marcoule.

 

VISIT TO THE FACILITIES AT MARCOULE AND OF THE PHENIX REACTOR

 

10.30h             Landing of the helicopters in Belvédère de Marcoule. Welcome by M.DELAUNAY, Prefect of Gard, and by M.GIRAUD, Member of the Board of Directors of the Commisariat à l’Energie Atomique.

 

Overview presentation of the center’s installations by the director of the center.

 

Tour of the installations by car, to the Phénix Reactor. Visit to the Phénix Reactor.

 

12.15h             After the visit, M.DENG XIAOPING, accompanied by M.PONIATOWSKI, takes the car to Belvédère to return to Orange by helicopter.

 

RETURN TO PARIS

 

12.45h             Upon arrival at the airport of Orange, the delegation boards the Caravelle.

 

13.00h             Take off of the Caravelle

 

Lunch onboard.

 

14.30             Arrival at Orly Airport (VIP terminal)...

14.00h             Take off of the plane of the Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China.

 

 

Itinerary for the visit of Deng Xiaoping, Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, to France. Deng's visit includes meetings with Prime Minister Jacques Chirac and Foreign Minister Jean Sauvagnargues, as well as visits to a farm outside Paris and the Phenix nuclear reactor in Marcoule.
