Khr. 85?7] JOURNAL of Soviet Ambassador in the DPRK A. M. PUZANOV for the period 13 through 28 June 1960 Pyongyang […] 23 June 1960 I visited Czechoslovak Ambassador Stanislav Kohousek at his request. At the Ambassador's request I told of Kim Il Sung's trip to Moscow on an unofficial visit and the requests he expressed about economic issues, and also informed the Ambassador about the incorrect actions of the Chinese leaders during the VFP General Council [SIC] and about the mistaken views of the Chinese leaders about a number of the most important international issues. Stanislav Kohousek expressed gratitude for the information. xxx In the evening Choe Yong-geon gave a reception in honor of the Albanian friends. Haxhi Lleshi and Liri Belishova expressed gratitude for the text of Cde. N. S. Khrushchev's speech which had been sent [them] and said they had read the deeply profound speech with great interest and expressed their complete agreement with its statements, especially about international issues. At the request of [Sergey Timofeyevich] Astavin, chief of the USSR MFA [5th European] Department, I asked Liri Belishova about their wishes (what to visit, with whom to meet) in Moscow on return to their homeland. She replied that she will consult with Haxhi Lleshi and report. In a brief conversation Pak Jeong-ae reported that a KWP CC Plenum will be held in the first days of August. Kim Il Sung has gone on vacation and Pak Geum-cheol is acting for him in the KWP CC. The rice planting [posevy] is concluding. The ambassadors thanked the Embassy for the Embassy bulletin which had been sent in which Cde. N. S. Khrushchev's speech at the third Romanian Worker's Party congress had been placed.
