Number 82/ Solod was set to travel to his country at the end of this month to present his government with a report about the current Syrian policy because of what was agreed upon at the time about the idea of establishing Greater Syria or the Fertile Crescent Project. However, the developments in the new Syrian policy prompted Solod to delay his trip.

I have found out from the Russian Legation that new instructions have come in concerning the Russian recognition of the Syrian government. However, the reason behind delaying this recognition is due to its policy of opposing communism in Syria.
Despite of that, it is expected that this recognition will be announced within the next two days
Developments in Syria and with the Syrian government's relations with the Soviet Union.
