MEMORANDUM FOR:

LT Col LEE, Korean M.A.

 

 

SUBJECT:

Visit of Vietnamese Officers to Korea to Observe the Korean Service Corps

 

1. Reference the Vietnamese request to send two Vietnamese Officers to Korea to study the Korean Service Corps.

 

2. Since the Korean Service Corps is under control of the U.S. Eighth Army it has been recommended by the commander of MAAG Korea that details of the proposed visit be coordinated with the Commanding General U.S. Eighth Army.

 

3. Commanding General U.S. Eighth Army is aware of and concurs with this recommendation.

 

4. It you agree with this recommendation it is believed that the Vietnamese request can be most expeditiously handled by simply inviting them and arranging visas. This Headquarters will then make the necessary arrangements with U.S. Eighth Army.
