Bulgarian Interior Minister Visits Moscow to Coordinate Activities against Foreign Propaganda Operations

Comrade dePutY-minister,

 

From 12/16 through 12/20/1985 a group of top operatives from the interior ministry, led by the ministry of the interior, Colonel-General Dimitar Stoyanov, had a meeting and conversations with representatives of various departments of the KGB.

 

The group was received by Politburo member and KGB chairman Comrade Chebrikov. During the meeting, Comrade Chebrikov made a profound analysis of the international political and operational situation.

[We proposed] the elaboration of a prospective plan of struggle against the emigrant centers.

 

Dr. Chebrikov said that the idea was good, but that this was quite a difficult task. We need to take more active measures to penetrate the centers, publish materials, expose them, etc.

 

[We proposed] to elaborate a coordination plan for discrediting radio “Liberty” and Free Europe.

 

The proposal was accepted. […]
