19B/10 22/1/1951 The communists throw a bomb at the British Consulate in Aleppo At eleven o'clock on Saturday night, 20 December 1951, a communist threw a hand grenade at the Consulate in Aleppo; the noise of the explosion was tremendous, and the police and security services hurried to the scene and took the necessary measures to protect the investigation. The police and security services were deployed in many areas to search for the perpetrator. The bomb caused a lot of damage, destroyed the garage, broke some windows and glass, and caused minor damage to the rest of the building. They found out that it was a light calibre bomb resembling the one thrown ten days earlier at the home of the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Aleppo. Many homes were searched but the perpetrators were not found. What is beyond doubt, however, is that the communists are behind this act. As I shared with you in a special report earlier; they seek through such acts to destabilise security and spread fear and chaos in the country; many more such acts are expected to take place in the country.
