A British plan against Saudi Arabia
During the summer, the Secretary General of the Lawyer's Union in Basra told one of his Lebanese friends that the British are drawing long-term political plans to remove Saudi authority over the Hijaz and limit it only to Najd, annex Jordan and its Palestinian territories to Egypt, and reinstate Hashemite control over the Hijaz.
The Iraqi-Turkish Treaty is to be the plan's first step.
