Comrade JOSIP BROZ TITO

President of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia

President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

On October 29, during the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly’s Thirtieth Meeting, the Resolution Draft submitted by 43 Member States was adopted by majority vote, staying on the right course of efforts of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to reunify the Fatherland.

Upon hearing this news, I want to extend my gratitude to you and your government for actively fighting for the adoption of the Resolution Draft, stepping up as its sponsor, and helping our people in our fight to reunify our Fatherland.

Your support and the help of your country in this righteous matter of our people are extremely valuable to me and serve as a true inspiration.

The fact that the Resolution Draft about the Korean question, submitted together by 43 Member States, was adopted signifies a victory of the Korean people and the progressive peoples of the world, while also serving as a hit to all the imperialists and their lackeys who still want to keep south Korea occupied and Korea divided by fabricating “two Koreas”.

This decision, as a reflection of the tendencies of our time when the countries of the world go forward on the road of independence and autonomy, shows that the time when imperialists could manipulate the United Nations is long gone.

When the Plenary Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly adopts the Resolution Draft submitted by 43 Member States, and when it is brought to life, it will significantly contribute to accelerating the final resolution of the Korean question and securing long-term peace in Korea and Asia.

During the discussion of the Korean question at the General Assembly of the United Nations, our people have further established our belief that it is possible to rapidly accelerate the victory of the great matters of peace, democracy, national independence and socialism when all the progressive peoples of the world, especially the peoples of socialist countries lead a fierce fight, united together.

On this occasion, from all my heart, I wish you and your peoples even greater victories in your fight for prosperity and development of your country, believing that this relationship of friendship and collaboration between our two countries will grow even stronger and develop on the bases of Marxism, Leninism and proletarian internationalism.
