He nevertheless left Moscow more hopeful than he had arrived.  Stalin at last had promised help for the Warsaw insurgents.  He had assured Mikolajczyk at their final meeting, on August 9, that a Soviet communications officer would be dropped into Warsaw by parachute to establish direct radio communications with General Bor’s headquarters.  The supplies could be air-dropped to the Poles by prior arrangement.
