    At the conclusion of their talks, Clinton and Hosokawa discuss the upcoming visit by the Emperor and Empress of Japan to the United States, as well as the possibility of Clinton visiting Japan in the near future.

(Prime Minister) This year there is scheduled a visit to the United States by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, so I would like to ask for your cooperation. Also, I would like you to visit Japan again next year.

(Clinton) I welcome the visit to the United States of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. I understand that this is the first visit of His Majesty the Emperor to the United States in about 20 years. I would like to cooperate by all means possible to make a success of the visit to the United States of Their Majesties.

Also, I would be happy to visit Japan again. (End)
