Sit-in at Tiananmen Square Continues (Propagandist from the Student Side)
There has been reporting in some Japanese newspapers that the students in Tiananmen Square will end their sit-in on the 30th, but on the 28th a member of the student propaganda department in the square said the following:
1. We held a meeting today. Such a view was among those put forth then, but it was rejected. The decision was made to persist in continuing the sit down.
2. Our demand remains Li Peng’s stepping down and the retraction of the editorial of April 26.
3. The economic situation is becoming difficult because the party and government are cracking down.
(End)
A brief report on the demands of student protestors in Tiananmen Square, which includes the demand that Li Peng steps down.
