Mr Henry Harton, envoy of the American State Department, arrived day before yesterday from Damascus, and stayed with his colleague at Hotel Normandy.
I noticed heightened surveillance activities by Russian and Jewish informers seeking to know Mr Harton's movements and contacts in Syria; Nicola Venzel, his wife, and Michel Limanski worked for the Russians, and Maurice Lisiota and Boris Ezra worked for the Jews who were milling in big numbers around him.
