Com. Dedo by message no 6 of 9 of this month informs:

The Iranian ambassador confirms the enunciations of South Korean MOFA to the effect that the most important result of Kim Jong Nam’s*[1] visit to Iran (right after Shevardnadze left Pyongyang) was Teheran’s readiness to:

- deliver to the DPRK, over the next eighteen months, two million tons of oil, chiefly in exchange for arms and military equipment deliveries (the largest supplies were sent from there in the years 1986–87, including the Chinese “Silkworm” missiles);

- cooperate in the field of developing and exploration of North Korean uranium deposits (not very rich, some 70 km North of Pyongyang), except enriching (interlocutor’s emphasis). The letter is treated skeptically by the majority of the local CD. For example, according to the Soviets, participation of a third party, especially in terms of know-how is necessary. Furthermore, there would arise questions as the purpose of this kind of enterprise (of. US inquisitiveness regarding the production of chemical weapons in Libya). So one should treat as possible spectacular propagandistic intentions of both sides.
