Rl GEUN (?- ). Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) diplomat who, as director general of the North American affairs bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, played a role as deputy to Kim Gye-gwan in the Six Party Talks aimed at the denuclearization of the DPRK from 2003 onward. Little is known of his background, although he speaks English and has the personal rank of ambassador. He has visited the United States on a number of occasions. He has a reputation as a tough and unyielding negotiator.
