Report addressed by Minister of the Armed Forces of the Socialist Republic of Romania to Ion Gheorghe Maurer, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Socialist Republicof Romania

This report by Romanian Minister of Armed Forces Ion Ionita to the chairman of the Romanian Council of Ministers, Georghe Maurer, refers to the latter's participation in the Conference of the Warsaw Pact Defense Ministers. The conference resolved outstanding problems concerning draft statutes. The observations of the delegation of the Ministry of Armed Forces approved by the party and state leadership have all been included, with the exception of article 12, item A, regarding the stationing of troops of the United Armed Forces on territories of member countries, on which the Romanian party reserved the right to reflect.

Letter to the Allied Control Commission from General S. Pretorian for the President of the Romanian Armistice Commission

General S. Pretorian requests increased staffing for all the District Centers of Territorial Exploitation in Romania. He lists the responsibilities and resources required to supply both Romanian and Soviet armies and states that the current levels of staffing are insufficient.

Report on the meeting of the Chiefs of the General Staff of the Armies of the Warsaw Pact

The meeting focused on the need to create a more unified command structure and general staff for the Warsaw Pact. A draft protocol was produced, which the delegates signed.

Letter from Captain Calugaru P. Stelian of the 40th Infantry Regiment to the Commanding General of the General Staff, Bucharest, with attached List of Names

Captain Stelian pleads with the Commanding General of the General Staff in Bucharest to intervene on behalf of himself and 23 other Romanian soldiers who were captured by the Allied Forces, held in POW camps in Germany, and then transported toward the USSR. A list of the names of these soldiers is attached.
