The CCP Central Committee’s United Front Work Department announced in a cable to the Fujian Province United Front Department: “In order to complement the struggle against Burmese Vice Premier Ang Ji’s [sic] influence, we request that you conduct an investigation on his uncle Chen An’guang. Chen An’guang is from the town of Jixiang in Tong’an district. Find out if he is in regular contact with Ang Ji, what his political views are, his family’s economic situation, his friends, and his day to day life. Please report your research.”
