I visited Cde. Kim Il Sung and familiarized him with the CPSU CC Plenum Resolution, "Concerning the Anti-Party Group of G. M. Malenkov, L. M. Kaganovich, and V. M. Molotov".

 

After familiarizing himself Cde. Kim Il Sung said the following:

 

We have considered and do consider the CPSU as the guiding Party in our socialist camp. It is very good for us to hear that the CPSU CC Plenum exhibited unity during the discussion of the issue of the anti-Party group of Malenkov, Kaganovich, and Molotov and that it unanimously condemned the factional activity of this group. We, several of the KWP leaders, knew Molotov and others personally, but this could in no way influence our attitude toward the decision of the CC Plenum. We consider it correct that the CC acted in a Leninist manner when a question was raised about Party unity. I will tell Presidium members about the Plenum decision and the KWP CC Presidium will take every step to convey this decision to [Party] activists and all Party members and correctly explain it.

 

The decision adopted by the CPSU CC Plenum will serve as a great experience for us on how unity of Party ranks needs to be protected.

 

Kim Il Sung said that we know what great harm factional strife can cause since we ourselves had to experience this in the KWP CC last year. The anti-Party group of Malenkov, Kaganovich, and Molotov has also caused great harm to our common cause, especially Cde. Molotov. But the CPSU CC Plenum decision will be unanimously supported.

 

In conclusion Kim Il Sung thanked the CPSU CC for the information about the CPSU CC Plenum Resolution.

 

In addition, I informed Cde. Kim Il Sung about the following issues:

 

how work was organized regarding the consultation of the DPRK five-year plan;

 

about a conversation with USSR Minister of Finance Cde. Zverev, who said that DPRK representatives can come to Moscow at any time about issues of monetary reform;

 

about a conversation with the Chief of the Main Directorate of Civil Aviation, Cde. Zhigarev, that a TU-104 training flight to the DPRK will be done when the air temperature falls to 20 degrees since the length of the landing strip is 2.2 km and 2.5-2.7 km are needed.

 

Kim Il Sung thanked the Soviet government for the close examination and favorable decision of the issues raised by the DPRK government.

 

Cde. Nam Il, KWP CC Presidium member and Minister of Foreign Affairs, was present at the conversation and translated when necessary. The conversation lasted more than two hours.

 

Puzanov discusses with Kim Il Sung the CPSU CC Plenum's declaration of factionalists, which Kim lauds as exemplary measures for party unity. Then Puzanov updates Kim Il Sung on the USSR government's favorable responses to the DPRK's various proposals.
