Text of the answer to the U.S.A. on Soviet-American technical negotiations on the issue of peaceful uses of nuclear explosions.
The Soviet side agrees with the proposals of the U.S.A. to conduct a bilateral exchange of opinions at the technical level on issues connected to the peaceful use of nuclear explosions.
The program of negotiations proposed by the American side does not elicit objections. It is proposed that the agenda for negotiations be refined upon meeting.
The Soviet side would like to know whether the American intends to give reports in accordance with the program and, if so, on what issues and who will be the presenters from the American side. In the case of a positive response, say that the Soviet side can also give reports.

Advise that Academician E. K. Fedorov is designated as the head of the Soviet delegation.
Ask who will be in the American delegation; in the case that the question is raised about the composition of the Soviet side, advise that its composition is being selected.
Express agreement with the proposals of the American side on the confidential character of the upcoming negotiations and express hope that the materials of the negotiations will not be public… [Translator note: source information was cut off here.]
