September 28, 1972	Report from Etre Sándor, 'Discussion with Comrade Sebestyén. Comrade Sebestyén's assessment of the situation.' A report by Etre Sandor on North Korea’s internal and external policies, the Korean reunification issue, and Hungarian-North Korean relations.
1996	Excerpts from Recollections by the Former Soviet Ambassador in North Korea Aleksandr Kapto Aleksandr Kapto reflects on the Soviet Union's normalization of relations with South Korea, and the consequential fallout in relations between North Korea and the USSR. According to Kapto, North Korea threatened to develop nuclear weapons and withdraw from the NPT as a result of Soviet-South Korean rapprochement.
September 20, 1956	Record of a Meeting between the Sino-Soviet Delegation and the Korean Workers' Party Presidium Both Mikoyan and Peng Dehuai strongly urge the KWP Presidium and Kim Il Sung to consider rehabilitating those involved in the August Plenum Incident. Choe Yong-geon suggests that they will be restored to the Central Committee, but not necessarily to their original positions, and certainly not to the Presidium. As for those who fled to China, both Choe and Kim say that they will be allowed to rejoin the party, but not the Central Committee and will not be guaranteed their old positions.
September 15, 1956	Decision of the KWP CC Plenum, 30-31 August 1956, 'The Results of the Work of the Government Delegation which Visited Fraternal Countries, and Some Pressing Tasks of Our Party' The resolution discusses economic growth in North Korea and the promises of fraternal aid, while warning of the dangers of factionalism to the preservation of Marxism-Leninism.
June 1, 1960	From the Journal of N. Ye. Torbenkov, Record of a Conversation with DPRK MFA Counselor Pak Deok-hwan In this incomplete document, Pak Deok-hwan, a Soviet Korean, describes his plans to return to the Soviet Union. He also discusses the "Juche" philosophy being promoted by the KWP that "everything Korean is better compared to [anything] foreign."
April 1956	Memo from K. Koval to the CPSU CC, on Soviet provision of postwar aid to the DPRK Describes in detail the progress made as of January 1956 on the DPRK-USSR agreement that the USSR provide postwar aid from 1953 to 1957. Also lists free aid provided by China and other socialist states.
December 18, 1970	Statement from the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the DPRK Embassy in Moscow A statement to the DPRK Embassy about a series of incidents that have soured relations between Korean authorities and Soviet embassy staff. Over the course of four months, DPRK authorities have detained Soviet diplomats traveling on official business and denied Soviet merchant vessels access to Korean ports for unclear reasons. The Ministry points out that the DPRK in these incidents violated the two countries’ agreement on visa-free travel for official matters, and asks that DPRK takes measures to ensure that similar events will not occur in the future.
November 27, 1970	Telegram to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from Minister of External Trade N. Patolichev The Minister writes about the DPRK’s failure to fulfill its trade obligations to the USSR. While the DPRK continues to blames its inability to deliver its goods on infrastructural weaknesses and political tensions on the peninsula, the Ministry finds that these problems should not deter the production and export of certain goods. The DPRK’s debt amounts to more than 60 million rubles, and the trade gap shows no signs of decreasing.
September 17, 1956	Telegram from A. Mikoyan to the CPSU Central Committee Mikoyan reports on an unsuccessful meeting with a number of Korean delegates, who had clearly been prepped for the conversation, making them reluctant to go beyond instructions and provide more detailed responses about the August Plenum Incident.
September 21, 1956	Telegram from A. Mikoyan to the CPSU Central Committee
