Xinjiang Intends to Exhibit Evidence on the Subversive Activities of the Soviet Revisionists

Contents of Conversation:

The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region will hold an exhibition for its 15th anniversary (open to ordinary people), of which the subversive activities of the Soviet revisionists in Xinjiang will be part. The Party Committee of the Autonomous Region has instructed the [Xinjiang] Public Security Bureau to collect materials and now one comrade from Xinjiang has come to borrow original evidence on the subversive activities of the Soviet revisionists in Xinjiang currently held by the First Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. Vice Minister Liang Yun has the view[that]:

1. Should this original evidence be lent out[?];

2. Whether or not the exhibition should this type of content needs to be considered.

Does the Central Committee have a new spirit? [We] do not understand, and this issue should be discussed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Handling:

Comrade Wang:

This original evidence is not yet [ready] for external use; [if] it was public exhibited, then [illegible]. Therefore, do not lend [this] to the Xinjiang exhibition in order to [illegible]. It's no good for us to put forth our views on the content of the exhibition and [we] request that the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region decides on its own. Please instruct on whether or not this is appropriate.
