Yudin, Pavel F.

Pavel Yudin was a Soviet philosopher and communist party official specializing in culture and sociology. In 1931, Yudin was a member of the editorial board of Under the Banner of Marxism. Later Yudin became Director of the Institute of Red Professors and a deputy head of the Culture department of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party. In 1932 he was a chairman of the Union of Soviet Writers, whose aim was to achieve party and state control in the field of literature. Yudin was the Soviet Ambassador to China from 1953 to 1959.
