This is a summary of articles found in the "Mardom" newspaper, which was published illegally in Iran by the underground communist Tudeh (People's) Party of Iran. The issue summarized condemns the Shah as a traitor and as cooperating with the Americans and the British at the cost of the Iranian civilians.

The Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi spoke with Nicolae Ceaușescu regarding President Nixon's speech in which he talks about disengaging the US from issues that do not concern the US, but also not abandoning allies. The Shah recalled that he told President Nixon long ago to withdraw from Vietnam. The Arab-Israeli conflict was also discussed.

Informative Note on the Visit of the Romanian President of the Council of Ministers, Chivu Stoica, to Iran, 13-19 May 1967

The Shah explained to Chivu Stoica that Iran was interested in building a special pipeline just for socialist countries, but also said that he realized that this 'could irritate certain socialist countries' and Iran was happy to act bilaterally in the case of Romania.

Dranceanu recounts a conversation with the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. It was brought up that Moscow had suggested that the socialist countries could build a 'consortium' that would receive Iranian oil via a pipeline through the Soviet territory.

June 2, 1966

Minutes of Conversation between Nicolae Ceaușescu and the Shah of Iran, Bucharest

During a visit to Bucharest in June 1966 Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi told Ceaușescu that the 'small powers' in the international system must try to 'get along' in order to allow the superpowers to 'cut down on the responsibilities they took upon themselves intentionally or not, wisely or not.'

Telegram, French Ambassador to China Claude Arnaud to French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, No. 998/1000, 'Follow-up to the Visit of M. Deng Xiaoping to France'

French Ambassador Claude Arnaud reports that Princess Ashraf Pavlavi, sister of the Shah of Iran, met with Vice Premier Deng Xiaoping in Beijing. Deng had recently returned from a trip to France and he "advised the princess to make sure that Iran will tighten and deepen its links to France."
