He argues that the United States is trying to forcibly create "Two Chinas."
October 13, 1958	Orders from [PRC] Minister of Defense [Peng Dehuai] to Halt the Bombardment of Kinmen for Another Two Weeks The PRC Minister of Defense writes to members of the People's Liberation Army in Fujian province during the Second Taiwan Strait Crisis, calling for them to stop shelling Kinmen and observe the situation. He argues that the United States should not interfere in China's Civil War.
October 6, 1958	Letter from the [PRC] Minister of Defense [Peng Dehuai] to Taiwanese Compatriots During the Second Taiwan Strait Crisis, the PRC Minister of Defense urges the Nationalists to negotiate with the CCP, arguing that the Americans will eventually abandon them.
June 21, 1960	Conversation from [Mao Zedong's] Audience with a Japanese Literary Delegation Mao and visitors from Japan discuss their common struggle against American imperialism. While Mao notes that China once fought against Japanese imperialism, he emphasizes that they are now targeting the US and Chiang Kai-shek. He promises to have China support and learn from Japan.

Khrushchev to the CC Presidium about the Preparation of Documents with a Proposal to Convene a Conference of Heads of Governments on the Question of the Situation in the Area of Taiwan Outlines of two proposed documents for the Soviet Union to deliver, one to President Eisenhower and one to the 13th UN General Assembly. The proposed texts discuss the conflict between China and Taiwan and a potential meeting between the heads of state of the US, USSR, PRC, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Burma, Cambodia, and Thailand to review the situation.
